The objective of this website is to spread knowledge on statelessness. The Norwegian Organisation for Stateless People (NOSP) is an Oslo based humanitarian advocacy organisation that works with statelessness related issues. The organisation’s objectives are:
- To give support to stateless people in distress
- To address issues of concern to stateless people in various societal institutions
- To effectively promote the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights’ article 15 - the individual’s right to a nationality- through lobbying and various types of campaigns directed at state authorities and private institutions.
By among others spreading knowledge on statelessness, the Norwegian Organisation for Stateless People aims at contributing in the global efforts to eradicate the phenomenon of statelessness in international relations. The abovementioned objectives are carried out in cooperation with among others, the private sector, academic institutions, state authorities and private individuals. As a consequence of NOSP's overall objectives, the organisation's work is considered to be a continuous and broad project that aims at assisting stateless people in distress and contributing to the eradication of statelessness in international relations.
NOSP is dedicated to the principles of humanity and the equality of peoples. The organisation has as a comprehensive objective contributing to the development of a more compassionate, free, humane and fair society, and the establishment of contacts with similarly oriented organisations and networks at the national and international level.
